Serendipity

With sight set on reaching Deoria Tal, we left Ukhimath early in the morning. The weather was pleasant for winter. The gentle curves of the great Himalayas was lulling us in a gentle dream like complacence. I was busy smiling and waving at the neatly scrubbed little faces scampering off to school.

The car turned a corner and there was a very palpable drop in the temperature. A water fall was set back like a jewel in the mountains.  The cascading waterfall’s water tumbled down the rocks, boulders and pebbles. We were astounded and parked the car aside to alight and dip into the beauty of this marvel. The rocks were held together by the trees and small shrubs and moss grew easily in every conceivable place. We could easily climb down from the road and get inside the water fall. The place was beyond magic, like a fairy land in a haven amidst the mountains. The shades of verdant and azure made it look surreal. No words can do justice to describe this serendipitous find.
