My Nepal Story – from ABC to EBC – Part I (Chapter 1)

October 2012

After some, for me, really hard times in Germany, i started one day to this 3 week trekking tour around annapurna plus an extra week for Annapurna Base Camp. And already in the plane i could leave lot of troubles behind and was welcomed with a first fantastic view over the Himalaya. After a welcome drink in the hotel i nearly got lost in the streets of Kathmandu, because Asian cities are quite different from german ones!  Finally found back to the hotel and so the tour could start with me the next morning.

Welcome to Nepal!

Some impression from the start:

A picture from our guide Krishna, who probably knew about the traffic jam from Kathmandu to Besisahar, and took the chance for a last nap;  the end-point of our bus, and the start of the trekking.

Some people were driving further, but the ‘road’ was not really convenient for cars, so i prefered walking! Anyway walking was easy for us – thanks to the porters carrying most of our stuff!

So we could watch around, regarding Nepali people and their preparation for school or daily working – very soon being thankful for an easier life in Germany. But on the other handside people and animals mostly seemed to be relaxed in their lifes.

With perfect weather conditions we enjoyed the first days of trekking, admiring nature from small to big, from flowers to landscapes with the first views of high mountains coming.
