Touching the snow capped peaks

As a child growing up in the hustle and bustle of Delhi, all our weekend getaways ended up being in Himachal Pradesh. But with time I got bored of the same old mountains, the valleys and the pine forest leaving me wanting to see more, visit more places, and experience a different geographic. The last few years, living in the coastal city of Mangalore, made me realize how much I missed the air blowing through those very mountains.

5 visits to the various towns in the bosom of the Himalayas had my love rekindled during this past year. The last of these trips was to kandaghat, a small little town just shy of Shimla, and having heard about the constant news of snowfall we wanted to get a taste of it. After a 2 hour drive and multiple stops to ogle at the white rooftops, the cars that were stuck, trees covered with what looked like cotton from a distance, we found the perfect spot. The roads had just been cleared, the snow, well, as white as SNOW, a tea/Maggi stall, and the most mesmerizing view!

A toy city with thousands of houses of snow
Where do you, where do you go?
When the universe conspires for you to get the perfect picture
Whats ahead on that bend? More SNOW !!!
Spellbound
