On Friday, India and China held their first meeting regarding the border consultation and coordination mechanism in Beijing after the Doklam standoff. They also reviewed the situation in all the sectors of their border and exchanged views on improving and enhancing CBMs and military contacts.
According to a press release from the Indian Embassy, it has been reported that the 10th round of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) was held in Beijing.
The talks held on Friday were constructive and had a forward-looking approach, the press release said. After a thorough review of the situation in all the sectors of India-China border it was agreed that maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas is an important prerequisite for sustained growth of bilateral relations.
