The regional connectivity scheme proposed by the government, Udaan, has been created to provide connectivity to remote areas and improve access in under-served regions.
In a bid to provide a major boost to air connectivity in the Northeast, a total of 92 routes will be opened in the region in the second round of the government’s ‘Udaan’ scheme as reported by the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha.
The no-frills private airlines Indigo will soon begin its services from Guwahati to Silchar and Aizwal. He also announced that Spicejet will also be procuring seaplanes that could seat 9-10 passengers and land on smaller airstrips.
